Could you explain the Nutraprint Online Counseling?

The Nutraprint offers a comprehensive approach to wellness, right at your fingertips. Once you fill out the medical history forms online and select the type of Nutraprint package you would like, your information will be analyzed by our team of dietitians. Your Nutraprint may include some or all of the following: goals list/action plan, 2-week customized meal plans, food recall interpretation, vitamin recommendations, laboratory interpretation, weight loss strategies, exercise plan, tips/resources, and shopping guide. Please see the Nutraprint section for more detailed information.

How do follow up visits work?

Follow up visits range in length from 30 minutes to 1 hour. When you meet with a dietitian for the first time, they will recommend an appropriate time frame for you to follow up based upon your specific needs and goals. Clients may choose to come in weekly, biweekly, monthly or even once a year to review and discuss modifications of their regimen.

How long are initial consultations?

All visits are completely customized for our patients. Typically, the initial visit for one person will be 75 minutes in length. We are also able to accommodate groups of two or more. If you are interested in duet or family consults, please contact us for more detailed information as the time required for these visits will vary.

What if my insurance company does not cover my visit?

If your insurance company will not cover your visit, we suggest a couple of options. You may submit the visit to your Flex Spending Account if you have one through work or you may use the visit as a tax write off. Keep in mind that because we do not work directly with insurance, we are able to give you more quality time to determine your needs and customize your plan. As a result of this extra time, you will not be given any cookie cutter printouts, but instead have your entire health assessed and all of your nutritional recommendations custom tailored to fit your lifestyle. Most people can look back and see the hundreds of dollars spent on diet books, diet pills and group programs, but because of the lack of personalization or “whole person” approach, they are still riding the diet roller coaster years later. The investment you make in one customized visit with EB Nutrition can and will save you money in the long run. An investment in EB Nutrition is an investment in your future health!

Do you accept insurance?

If you are coming in for an office visit or doing a phone consultation, we will provide you with a receipt called a super bill. A super bill is a record of your visit that contains the office visit code (initial or follow up) and the clinical diagnosis codes given by your physician. You may submit the super bill to your insurance company along with the form they provide. Reimbursement will be dependent upon your insurance company and the policy you hold. We are unable to make any guarantees on your level of reimbursement.

What is the difference between a nutritionist and a dietitian?

There are many health professionals who may refer to themselves as nutritionists; however, it is a misrepresentation if they are not licensed or board certified. A qualified nutritionist will possess a bachelor’s and/or master’s degree in nutrition and have passed a state exam to become a licensed nutritionist for their state. A dietitian will also be required to have a bachelor’s or master’s level degree, but in order to become board certified they must complete a post-graduate clinical program in a hospital setting. This intensive clinical experience affords more credibility and experience to a dietitian because of their familiarity in working with a wide range of medical conditions both acute and chronic. Furthermore, you must be a registered dietitian in order to work in a hospital or medical clinic. The nutritionists at EB Nutrition are board certified licensed nutritionists and licensed dietitians.

I do a lot of reading about nutrition in books, magazines and online. What can EB Nutrition offer me that I do not already know?

The majority of the clients we work with are highly educated and seasoned when it comes to nutrition and health. Yet, we never fail to offer these individuals fresh and enlightening information that helps them discover new ways of using food as medicine.

I know which foods I should be eating, but I have a problem giving into sugar and carbohydrate cravings. How can EB Nutrition help me control these cravings?

One of the most frequently used sayings at EB Nutrition is “knowledge does not equal behavior”. Most of us know that an apple is healthier than a candy bar, but why is the candy bar so hard to resist? If you have persistent food cravings, there is no amount of will power that can deter you from getting your “fix.” At EB Nutrition, we know that food cravings are simply a clue that the body is out of balance. Therefore, when the imbalance is addressed, the food craving will subside. Then, the ability to follow a healthy eating plan becomes very simple when your body and mind are both along for the ride!

I have been on every diet out there. What makes EB Nutrition’s approach more effective?

At EB Nutrition, we use a “whole person” approach in working with our clients. Our consultations and medical history assessments encompass a wide range of areas to assess your total health. Even if your primary goal is to lose weight, we will explore your medical history and address any health concerns naturally by identifying the root cause. We will work with you and your physician to ensure that your health is addressed as naturally as possible on every level.

I have worked with other nutritionists before. What makes EB Nutrition so unique?

EB Nutrition is not about handing out a preprinted diet plan, counting calories, or telling you to follow the food guide pyramid. We are about helping you establish a healthy and stress-free relationship with food and teaching you how to use food and nutrients to heal your body. Rather than focus on what you shouldn’t eat, we will emphasize all of the delicious foods that you should eat! In fact, most of our clients are surprised that we recommend such a wide variety and generous amount of food, but who can argue when they see the results?
