Loaded Oats

Ingredients

  • 2 cups oatmeal, uncooked
  • 4 tsp natural nut butter – almond, peanut, cashew butter or other
  • 2 cups skim milk or milk alternative (soy, rice or other)
  • 2 cups water
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 2 scoops best quality protein powder, flavor of your choice
  • 4 tbsp coarsely ground flax seeds

Directions

  1. Bring the milk and water to a boil in a saucepan.
  2. Add remaining ingredients except flax seed, and reduce heat. Cook gently for 3 to 5 minutes, until mixture becomes uniform and thick.
  3. Ladle into four bowls and sprinkle each with 1 tablespoon ground flax seed. Serve immediately.
